You will join a cross-functional team responsible for driving data stewardship, governance, and quality initiatives. In this role, you will partner with business stakeholders, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to design data management frameworks and ensure data is the asset it should be. You will lead efforts to develop automated monitoring solutions, define data quality rules, and support data migration activities.

You will also guide best practices, facilitate training, and mentor junior team members to uphold data standards. This is a contract position with opportunities to influence data strategies on a large-scale, enterprise-wide platform.

• Lead design sessions with stakeholders to capture business needs, technical specifications, and metadata documentation.
• Develop and implement data quality rules, automated monitoring, and reporting solutions.
• Collaborate across teams to document business logic, data sources, and integration points.
• Drive open data initiatives to advance FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data principles.
• Support data migration activities and create documentation templates to improve existing processes.
• Perform exploratory data analysis, data profiling, and cleansing to ensure high-quality data for end-users.
• Advocate for data governance, data quality, and stewardship frameworks through training and communication.
• Coordinate the resolution of data support tickets and perform root cause analysis of data issues.
• Partner with data governance teams to ensure data security and proper access management.
• Build prototypes using SQL and continuously engage with end users for enhancements.
• Assist in designing data catalogs, metadata structures, and object relationships.

• 4+ years of proven experience in data stewardship, data governance, or related fields.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Agriculture, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to produce detailed technical and process documentation.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and scripting languages such as Python or R for data analysis and automation.
• Applied knowledge of data management best practices, data quality frameworks, and data cataloging.
• Experience with data migration, data profiling, and working in data warehousing environments.
• Strong communication, influencing skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Familiarity with API data management, cloud compute, No
  
  SQL databases, and Agile methodologies.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.

• Experience in the agriculture domain or with Big Query.
• Knowledge of data management tools like ETL platforms or Pipeline Pilot.
• Prior involvement with API management or resource-based API design.
• Exposure to Dev Ops practices and decision science initiatives.
