IT Systems Administrator Role Summary
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for administering, maintaining, securing, and troubleshooting Intellivo’s IT systems, networks, and endpoint technologies. This role ensures that internal systems operate securely, reliably, and efficiently while supporting compliance, infrastructure maturity, and operational readiness across the organization.
The Systems Administrator works closely with Security, Infrastructure, Engineering, and all business units to support end users, improve IT environments, strengthen ISO
27001 controls, respond to security alerts, and ensure IT systems are hardened and well-documented. This role also serves as an escalation point and technical leader for junior network, systems, and security staff.
Systems Administration & User Support
- Administer core IT systems, including O365, Windows Server, VMware environments, and corporate endpoints.
- Troubleshoot user hardware and software issues and provide hands-on support when needed.
- Assist in hardening new systems and ensuring secure configuration baselines.
- Onboarding and Offboarding users
- Administer endpoint protection solutions and respond to security alerts across systems.
- Assist with patch management for servers, endpoints, applications, and infrastructure devices.
- Identify and repair vulnerabilities, security issues, systems failures, and network problems.
- Troubleshoot on-prem and cloud network issues and contribute to creating resilient networking solutions.
- Assist with implementing new network configurations and improvements as needed.
- Assist with ISO 27001:2013 compliance efforts and related audit documentation.
- Support client security audits and respond to audit requests.
- Manage, maintain, and create IT policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Serve as an escalation point and informal leader to Junior Network, Systems, and Security staff.
- Provide technical mentorship, guidance, and support across IT operations.
- Participate in developing communications and staff awareness campaigns related to security best practices.
- Support security governance efforts with proactive recommendations and user education.
- Implement and respond to alerts from various system monitoring tools, including Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) platforms.
- Research, recommend, and help implement new IT and security solutions to improve reliability and security.
Additional Duties & Availability
- Work after hours as needed to support upgrades, emergency troubleshooting, or scheduled maintenance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field—or equivalent certifications and experience.
- 3+ years of relevant IT systems administration experience.
- Experience evaluating and responding to security risks and vulnerabilities.
- Proficiency with:
- Alert Logicor similar SIEM tools
- Windows Server & Windows OS
- Azure Administration
- O365 Administration
- VMware
- Patch Management solutions
- SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities across networking, systems, and security environments.
- Understanding of ISO
27001:2013 controls and security best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a high-volume environment.
