- Perform Customs business activities
- Responsible for transactions with U.S. Customs (CBP) concerning the entry and admissibility of merchandise
- Conduct effective research
- Communicate with the client and/or CBP
- Manage Customs entries
- Monitor clearance and recordkeeping
- Review of Customs documents to be filed with CBP ensuring accuracy
- Verify classification and valuation with the importer when necessary
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations
- Obtain the appropriate documents required to support claims or disclaims
- Ensure proper and timely payment of duties, taxes, or other charges assessed or collected by CBP on merchandise
- Maintain documents required under 19 CFR 163
- Monitor and track customs clearances and resolve any delays or issues
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, customs brokers, and government agencies
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Customs brokerage
- Preferred Qualifications:
U.S. Customs Brokerage License - Certification in customs compliance or a related area
- Experience working with a variety of industries and commodities
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, processes, and documentation
- Attention to detail and accuracy in customs declarations and record-keeping
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with ACE Secure Data Portal
- Proficient in using customs management software and systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Demonstrates expertise in Customs brokerage, ensuring compliance with regulations and accurate documentation. Proficient in managing Customs entries and utilizing customs management software to facilitate efficient operations.
