The Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) is responsible for the coordination and day‑to‑day operational tasks of research studies conducted by Mercy Research. Responsibilities include volunteer recruitment, drug/device/supply inventory maintenance, interaction with physicians, nurses, office staff, patients, and clinical monitors; collection, compilation, documentation, and analysis of clinical research data while adhering to local, state, and federal regulations. The CRN also assists in training and preceptor duties, and builds relationships with sponsors and CROs.

Hours:
Full time – 40 hours
- Nursing Diploma, Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Registered Nurse with a valid license in the state of practice.
- 2 years of nursing experience for a Bachelor’s degree holder; 3 years for an Associate’s degree or diploma program. Experience may be derived from prior roles, college degrees, or a combination of professional and educational experiences.
Skills and Abilities
- Basic patient assessment skills: vital signs, spirometry, ECGs, phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in face‑to‑face encounters with healthcare professionals and the public.
- Ability to interact respectfully and assertively with health professionals.
- Working knowledge of computer applications including the Internet, Microsoft Office, modems, printers, and other computer accessories.
- Strong mathematical proficiency and working knowledge of the metric system.
- Effective teamwork and independent problem‑identification and problem‑solving skills.
- Phlebotomy experience and at least 2 years of clinical research experience.
