Senior Data Engineer

Technology Partners is currently seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer.

As a critical senior member of a data engineering team, you will focus on creating distributed analysis capabilities for a vast variety of scientific and operational datasets. You will apply a deep knowledge of algorithms and data structures to transform complex data into innovative software deployed across the development pipeline. You will work with top-level talent to solve unique challenges with real-world impact, explore modern technology stacks, and have the opportunity to present work at major technical conferences.

• Lead the creation of distributed analysis capabilities for diverse, large-scale datasets.
• Apply advanced software craftsmanship, algorithms, and data structures to innovate and improve data systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex data challenges across genome sequencing, supply chain, and financial transactions.
• Evaluate and implement relevant technology stacks to ensure the best fit for specific datasets.
• Architect and project talent into high-impact projects where the strength of ideas is prioritized

• At least 7 years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience with the Go programming language.
• At least 2 years of experience building and maintaining data‑intensive APIs using a RESTful approach.
• Proficiency with stream processing using Apache Kafka.
• Strong experience with Unit Testing and Test‑Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
• Familiarity with containerized application deployments using platforms like Docker.
• Proven ability to build and maintain cloud‑based infrastructure on major providers such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure.
• Experience in data modeling for large‑scale databases (Relational or No
  
  SQL).

• Experience with protocol buffers and gRPC.
• Hands‑on experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Apache Beam, or Google Cloud Dataflow.
• Experience working with scientific datasets or quantitative science applications.
• Bioinformatics background, specifically in large‑scale storage, data mining of variant data, and genotype‑to‑phenotype correlation.

$65.80 - $94.00 /hr.
