Senior Accountant

Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with an established, privately held organization to identify a Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Crofton, MD.This is an opportunity to join a growing, multi-entity organization in a hands-on accounting role with broad exposure across the business. Reporting to the Controller, this position will play a key role in supporting daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities while working closely with finance leadership and operational teams across the organization.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support accounting operations across a portfolio of entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial information
• Manage cash flow activities, vendor payments, and banking transactions
• Perform general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and month-end close activities
• Support customer billing, accounts receivable, collections, and commission calculations
• Assist with sales tax compliance, audits, and other accounting processes
• Work closely with finance leadership and operational teams across the organization

What They're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with month-end close, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software or ERP systems;
  Net Suite experience is a plus
• Experience with accounts receivable, banking platforms, or sales tax compliance is preferred
• Background in manufacturing, construction, distribution, or another operationally driven environment is a plus
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and collaborate across teams
