DW Instructional and Behavior Coach (Part-time) – Crofton Elementary ()
Location: Crofton Elementary School
Employment Conditions: 185-day employee with flexible calendar. Salary determined by adopted teacher's salary schedule of the Christian County Board of Education.
Background Check Requirement: State law requires a national and state criminal history background check and a letter from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services stating the employee is cleared to hire based on no findings of child abuse or neglect.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Meet the requirements of a criminal record check as specified by Kentucky State Law
- Meet health requirements as specified in the district personnel policy
Provide professional development and coaching around Response to Intervention and identified needs to fully implement the District Improvement Plan; model academic and behavioral interventions; assist with data analysis and progress monitoring; provide coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance/consultation for classroom teachers and students, with emphasis on effective instructional practices; assist in developing, implementing and monitoring the district curriculum and benchmark assessments at the building level.
QUALIFICATIONS- Kentucky teacher certification and a Rank II/Master's Degree
- Minimum of six years successful teaching experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of state and national standards
- Deep knowledge of reading, writing, literacy development, and/or math
- Deep knowledge of and experience in content, instructional strategies, conditions of learning, and assessment-driven instruction (teaching/learning process)
- Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building an environment with a common instructional focus, promoting initiatives, and conveying expectations
- Ability to design and deliver quality professional development for administrators and teachers
- Ability to model lessons demonstrating best practice instruction
- Ability to support teachers in development of differentiated lessons
- Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing
- Demonstrated strength in organization, communication skills and efficiency in meeting deadlines
- Experience in analyzing data to plan for instruction
- Demonstrated ability to function as a positive collaborative member of a team
- Demonstrated interest and engagement in professional learning and reflection
Chief Instructional Officer
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Instructional Focus- Facilitate curriculum and benchmark assessment development/refinement work at the district and building levels
- Assist teachers in developing and implementing formative assessment practices that are aligned to curriculum maps and pacing guides
- Provide individualized, classroom-based coaching with participants to support them in implementing good instructional practices
- Assist teachers in aligning their teaching with appropriate standards, curriculum and assessments
- Assist teachers in their professional learning as a trained peer observer in the Professional Growth and Evaluation System
- Assist teachers in analyzing formative assessment data to inform instructional practices
- Assist teachers and school leadership in implementing a Response to Intervention program through professional development, coaching, and monitoring
- Model effective, differentiated instruction and how to appropriately intervene in a Response to Intervention program
- Assist new teachers, in a collaborative model of observation, conversation, and lesson demonstration, to analyze and reflect on their practice to promote quality instructional practices
