Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Project Manager to lead commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout. This position is responsible for overseeing project schedules, budgets, field operations, procurement, and client coordination while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably. , understands commercial electrical systems and installation practices, and has successfully managed multiple projects with full responsibility for schedule and financial performance.
- Manage multiple commercial and industrial electrical projects from award through completion and turnover.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, labor forecasts, procurement plans, and cost projections.
- Coordinate daily project activities with superintendents, foremen, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Serve as the primary project contact for owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation.
- Monitor project costs, labor productivity, forecasts, and profitability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify potential schedule, budget, and field issues and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
- Lead project meetings and provide clear updates regarding schedules, milestones, financial performance, and project risks.
- Coordinate material purchasing, equipment deliveries, subcontractor schedules, and other project logistics.
- Manage change orders and ensure additional work is properly documented, priced, and approved.
- Support inspections, testing, commissioning, punch-list completion, and final project turnover.
- Ensure work complies with applicable electrical codes, project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and project partners.
- 5+ years of project management experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction.
- Previous experience working for an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor is required.
- Valid Connecticut Electrical License required.
- Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, construction methods, installation practices, and project sequencing.
- Proven experience managing electrical projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Experience with project budgeting, forecasting, cost control, change orders, procurement, and labor management.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
- Proficiency with construction management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar software.
- Strong leadership, client communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Candidates who are available to start within the next month are strongly preferred.
- Competitive salary: $100,000–$110,000, based on experience.
