Hubbell's Cromwell, CT location is looking for a Production Planner to join their growing operation! The Production Planner is responsible for the timely planning in support of the master production schedule, optimize inventory in assigned areas and would also be responsible for expediting deliveries, clarification of specifications, and planning/scheduling to meet customer requirements. This individual would be required to work closely with manufacturing in establishing production planning and procurement schedules.
This is an onsite position.
- Follow up on back orders of manufactured and procured materials, expedite delivery of orders, make special arrangements for delivery as needed, and communicate to the respective departments the expected delivery dates and potential shortages
- Plan the manufacture of all products through the production facility in accordance with assembly procedures and standard times. Release production orders in the required time frame.
- Ensure planning documents are processed in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Update SAP data as needed and work with vendor and/or accounting to reconcile PO discrepancies.
- Have knowledge of inventory procedures in establishing and maintaining reorder points, reorder quantities and lead-times.
- Recommend procedures to improve quality and reduce costs, as well as keep informed of new developments in related commodities. Share updates with the Materials department. Support plant-wide Safety initiatives.
- Manufacturing support experience
- Knowledge of Production Planning processes
- Knowledge of a variety of commodities would be a plus
- SAP or similar ERP system experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good time management and multi-tasking skills
