Position: Agronomy and Horticulture ON CAMPUS Short Term 2026-2027 Teaching Positions - UMC Ag/NatR Division

Position

This is a short-term and/or temporary on-campus Agronomy and Horticulture teaching position for the University of Minnesota - Crookston Campus's Agriculture & Natural Resources Department for the  academic year.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and teach courses
  • Advise students with regard to academic concerns and school-related organizations
  • Provide service related teaching duties
  • Participate in the decision relations to the policies, courses, and programs in which there is involvement
  • Continuing personal growth within the profession, keeping current with the field and broadening knowledge and expertise

Deliver high-quality instruction to undergraduate students in coursework in the fields of agriculture agronomy and horticulture. This position will assist in the development of department goals and objectives; advise students; and support research and community outreach in the areas of discipline. The responsibilities also include developing and maintaining strong ties to the other scholars in the field, enriching the student experience and supporting student employment opportunities.

The position requires regular office hours.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree, preferably in the teaching discipline
  • Or, Master's Degree in another field, plus 18 graduate credits in the teaching discipline
  • A terminal degree in the discipline or related area is preferred
  • Professional and/or teaching experience related to assigned instructional responsibilities
  • Candidates must be willing to demonstrate self-awareness, cultural competencies, and achievement in working with diverse student populations
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Candidates must be eligible to work within the United States
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $1300-$1500 per credit based on experience, course, and enrollment.

Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor-Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
