Position: short-term and/or temporary on-campus Agriculture Mechanics teaching position for the University of Minnesota - Crookston Campus, Agriculture & Natural Resources Department, academic year.
Job Type: Part-Time, Regular/Temporary.
Location:
Crookston.
Job Code: 9754 (Teaching Specialist).
Responsibilities- Develop and teach courses.
- Advise students with regard to academic concerns and school-related organizations.
- Provide service-related teaching duties.
- Participate in decision-making related to policies, courses, and programs to which there is involvement.
- Engage in continuing professional growth, staying current with the field and broadening knowledge and expertise.
- Deliver high-quality instruction to undergraduate students in agriculture mechanics coursework.
- Assist in development of department goals and objectives; advise students; support research and community outreach within the discipline.
- Develop and maintain strong ties to other scholars in the field, enriching the student experience and supporting student employment opportunities.
- Maintain regular office hours.
- Master’s Degree, preferably in the teaching discipline.
- Or, Master’s Degree in another field, plus 18 graduate credits in the teaching discipline.
- A terminal degree in the discipline or a related area is preferred.
- Professional and/or teaching experience related to assigned instructional responsibilities.
- Demonstrated self‑awareness, cultural competencies, and achievement in working with diverse student populations.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Eligibility to work within the United States.
Pay Range: $1300-$1500 per credit based on experience, course, and enrollment.
Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor-Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
