Position: Animal Science ON CAMPUS Short Term 2026-2027 Teaching Positions - UMC Ag/NatR Division

Position

This is a short‑term and/or temporary on-campus Animal Science teaching position for the University of Minnesota - Crookston Campus's Agriculture & Natural Resources Department for the 2026‑2027 academic year. Job Code: 9754 (Teaching Specialist).

Responsibilities
  • Develop and teach courses.
  • Advise students with regard to academic concerns and school‑related organizations.
  • May provide service‑related teaching duties.
  • Participate in decisions related to policies, courses, and programs involving the department.
  • Engage in continuing personal growth within the profession, keeping current with the field and broadening knowledge and expertise.
  • Deliver high‑quality instruction to undergraduate students in animal science coursework; assist in development of departmental goals and objectives; support research and community outreach.
  • Develop and maintain strong ties to other scholars in the field, enriching the student experience and supporting student employment opportunities.
  • Maintain regular office hours.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree, preferably in the teaching discipline; or Master’s Degree in another field plus 18 graduate credits in the teaching discipline.
  • A terminal degree in the discipline or related area is preferred.
  • Professional and/or teaching experience related to assigned instructional responsibilities.
  • Willingness to demonstrate self‑awareness, cultural competencies, and achievements in working with diverse student populations.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Eligibility to work within the United States.
Employment Requirements

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $1300‑$1500 per credit, based on experience, course, and enrollment.
