Maintenance Mechanic

General Mechanic – Crossett, AR

Georgia‑Pacific seeks a General Mechanic for a 12‑hour rotating shift, including weekends, holidays, nights, and overtime. The starting pay is $36.64 per hour.

• Perform precision maintenance, including laser alignments, pumps, motors, fans, and related equipment.
• Execute roll changes on paper machines and converting lines.
• Adhere to strict safety rules, wearing required PPE such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel‑toed boots.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least five (5) years of full‑time experience as a general mechanic in the pulp and paper industry, or an equivalent combination of millwright, machinist, or pipe‑fitting experience.
• Or a technical degree or equivalent in general maintenance with a minimum of three (3) years experience as a general mechanic in the industry.
• Or completion of a general mechanic apprenticeship program with at least two (2) years experience.

• Experience with hydraulics/pneumatics.
• Five (5) or more years of experience as a millwright.
• Experience welding on equipment.
• Electrical experience.
