Role Title
Buyer & Inventory Specialist (with AP Support)
The Buyer & Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing procurement activities, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and supporting Accounts Payable (AP) in closing out purchase orders. This role ensures timely purchasing of materials, monitors stock to prevent shortages or overages, and collaborates with AP to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth financial processing. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, finance, and suppliers.
Keyresponsibilities
- Source and purchase materials, supplies, and services in line with company standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock audits.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to prevent shortages or excess.
- Create and manage purchase orders in ERP systems.
- Collaborate with AP to reconcile invoices, resolve discrepancies, and close out POs.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to optimize cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
- Generate reports on purchasing and inventory metrics for management review.
- Strong knowledge of procurement and inventory management principles.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Analytical skills for forecasting and cost analysis.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- 2–4 years in purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain roles.
- Experience working with Accounts Payable or finance teams.
- Familiarity with manufacturing or distribution environments preferred.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Certification in procurement or inventory management (e.g., CPIM, CPSM) is a plus.
The pay rate for this position is $26 per hour. Kerry offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, Employee Share Plan, Life, disability, and accident insurance.
