Schedule:
Full-Time Hours determined by department needs
Pay: $25-$29/hour
We're seeking a detail-oriented Environmental Specialist to join a leading manufacturing facility in Crossville, TN. This position plays a key role in ensuring environmental compliance while supporting sustainability initiatives across the plant. The ideal candidate has experience with environmental regulations in an industrial manufacturing setting, is highly organized, and is passionate about protecting the environment through proactive compliance and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
-Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
-Manage environmental permits, including air emissions, wastewater, stormwater, and hazardous waste.
-Prepare and submit required environmental reports accurately and on time.
-Coordinate environmental inspections, audits, and regulatory agency interactions.
-Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste management programs.
-Maintain Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans and emergency response procedures.
-Monitor environmental systems and maintain accurate compliance records.
-Lead sustainability initiatives focused on reducing waste, energy usage, and water consumption.
-Track environmental performance metrics and communicate results to leadership.
-Provide environmental guidance and training to employees as needed.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
-3-5 years of environmental compliance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
-Strong knowledge of EPA regulations and state/local environmental requirements.
-Experience managing air, water, stormwater, and hazardous waste permitting.
-Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to work collaboratively with production teams and regulatory agencies.
-Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
