Registered Nurse
This position requires a registered nurse specialized in the emergency room. The nurse will work night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. Care for a diverse patient population including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 1:4-5. Experience with care of ventilated patients and the administration and monitoring of procedural sedation is needed. Demonstrated ability to manage dysrhythmias and interpret them is important.
Staff will collaborate with respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, and unit secretaries. This role includes the management of patients with trauma, sepsis, stroke, respiratory issues like COPD, and cardiac conditions. Daily patient visits are expected to be around 50, with 23 rooms available. Special equipment used in the unit includes Lucas, Level 1, Arctic Sun, and infant warmers. The role includes ongoing professional development and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team.
The position does not accommodate time off requests during major holidays or holiday weekends.
