This position is located in the Office of Agricultural & Environmental Services

Join the Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry as an Administrative Coordinator 4! This position is responsible for all administrative functions for employees within the department's Agricultural Office, i.e. Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Agro Consumer Services and Animal Health Services assigned to the Crowley District Office.

This position reports to the ranking supervisor or manager form each respective Agricultural Office.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three years of experience in administrative services. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
    Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties:

  • The Administrative Coordinator 4 serves as the primary administrative support professional for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry's Crowley District Office, providing administrative services for the Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Agro-Consumer Services, and Animal Health Services programs.
  • Coordinates a wide range of district operations, including payroll and personnel administration, purchasing, budget and fiscal activities, property and inventory management, records management, fleet and facility coordination, and customer service.
  • Provides programmatic support by processing applications and fees, coordinating inspections and licensing activities, administering certification examinations, maintaining regulatory records, and serving as the primary point of contact for the public, regulated industries, and field staff.
  • This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient daily operation of district programs and the delivery of services to citizens and the agricultural community across the Crowley District.

Position-Specific Details:

  • Appointment Type:
    • Full-time- this position may be filled by probation or by promotion of a classified employee of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry serving with permanent status.
    • Applicants who are not permanent employees of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry will be required to serve a probationary period up to 24 months.
  • Compensation:
    The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
