Responsibilities- Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with departmental policies, standards, specifications, and project plans.
- Complete and process construction documentation such as field diaries, reports, and estimates.
- Enter, review, and maintain construction project data in departmental systems (e.g., MATT, Site Manager, Content Manager).
- Apply DOTD engineering policies and procedures while working in the Project Engineer’s office and at construction sites.
- Serve as the primary construction inspector in assigned areas of specialization or certification.
- Determine material sampling requirements and verify materials, haul quantities, and survey elevations and alignments.
- Complete required training and support efficient project operations, including assisting other staff as needed.
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR
- Six months of experience in sub‑professional engineering, heavy mobile equipment operation, or mobile equipment maintenance.

Compensation:
Starting hourly rates for each level, plus an additional $2.00/hour Premium Pay for every hour worked.
- Construction Inspector 1 – $14.98 per hour
- Construction Inspector 2 – $17.15 per hour
- Construction Inspector 3 – $19.63 per hour
- Construction Inspector 4 – $22.47 per hour
