About this Role - Field Safety & Health Representative

We are looking for a talented Field Safety & Health Representative who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating the safety and occupational health component of personnel, materials, equipment, and environments to achieve safety effectiveness for the Utility Division. It involves assisting regional Safety representatives, Project Managers, Project Superintendents, and craft personnel to promote and ensure safe work practices and conditions.

What

You’ll Do
  • Assist with new hire general safety orientation.
  • Coordinate, conduct, and document safety meetings and on‑site safety audits.
  • Assist top management in preparing safety policies and procedures; provide support in implementing these policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules are observed.
  • Work with the Safety Department and ensure that OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met.
  • Monitor activities where accidents could occur, halting any operation or activity that constitutes an imminent hazard to personnel or equipment.
  • Provide safety technical support and education for supervisors and employees.
  • Provide feedback to encourage learning.
  • Promote proactive and preventive safety activities by observing, analyzing, encouraging safe work behaviors, and correcting unsafe conditions.
  • Integrate safety into project plans by establishing safety goals and reinforcing safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor safety compliance, creating awareness and setting priorities that focus on continuous safety improvement.
  • Work with the VP’s, Operations Managers, Project Managers, Superintendents and Field Safety & Health Coordinators to develop, implement and monitor annual comprehensive Safety Plans.
  • Assist and document Utility Division incident investigations, including a detailed RCA, sharing lessons learned, communicating next steps and tracking associated action items.
  • Monitor safety compliance, creating awareness and setting priorities that focus on continuous safety and DOT improvement.
  • Extensive travel is required.
What You’ll Bring
  • Working knowledge of 29 CFR OSHA 1926 Construction Industry Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Proven communication, organizational, presentation and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management preferred, or related field equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 1‑3 years of construction safety experience.
