Assistant Project Manager - Industrial Construction

Job Description

Support the delivery of industrial construction projects from initiation through closeout. Partner closely with the Project Manager to assist with project planning, scheduling, coordination, budgeting, and safety execution. Provide day-to-day support for on-site activities, including tracking progress and participating in regular project reviews. Assist in identifying project risks, resolving issues, and proactively mitigating schedule or cost impacts. Support planning and execution across all phases of construction, from pre-construction through completion.

Help ensure all safety, quality, and compliance standards are consistently met. Assist with cost control and schedule management, including tracking projections and forecasts. Review project projections and performance metrics to support decision-making. Work under the guidance of a strong, experienced Project Manager who will provide mentorship and support. Participate in ongoing training and development to build project management and construction expertise.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills

+ Experience in construction management or industrial (1-2+ years).

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).

+ Field coordination/on-site experience.

+ Scheduling and data entry skills.

+ Knowledge of construction management, industrial, and mechanical construction.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience ranging from entry-level to 10 years in construction/mechanical space.

+ Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or similar is preferred.

+ Proficiency in planning/scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, P6, Power BI) is a plus.

+ Safety knowledge.

+ Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.

+ Willingness to travel throughout the Midwest and occasionally South and Southwest.

Work Environment

Work hours are 7am-4pm, Monday through Friday. The position requires travel, primarily throughout the Midwest, with per diem, travel pay, and mileage provided. The office is located in Crown Point, IN, and the role is based out of this office. There are 35-60 people on-site at all times, representing various trades, with 90% being company employees.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Crown Point, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.75 - $40.87/hr.
