Dental Hygiene Assistant

As a Dental Hygiene Assistant, you are an integral part of the care team providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Responsibilities include preparing and setting up treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization. You will assist Dental Hygienists during patient treatment progress. Your role involves updating patient health history and charting treatment progress. If certified, you will expose and develop radiographs. Educating patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive care is essential. You will coordinate with clinical staff to manage inventory and sterilization of dental instruments.

Support the hygienist with patient scheduling and treatment recommendations as well as office recall systems. Perform routine tasks while ensuring compliance with industry regulations including HIPAA and OSHA. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. You should be detail-oriented with a commitment to patient care and comfort. Preferred education includes an Associate's Degree or certification in Dental Assisting. Preferred certifications include being a Certified Dental Assistant.
