Job Title
Responsible for processing castings thru liquid penetrant; inspecting casting under a black light process for discontinuities; performing analysis of any discontinuities; utilize small hand tools; make experienced go-no go casting decisions.

- Accurate scanning in and out on jobs and the proper reporting of processed quantities.
- Wear proper safety equipment; keep work area clean and safe at all times.
- Understand customer requirements, our companies internal scrap challenges, rework, customer returns, the impact they have on your job and demonstrate ability to deliver quality & efficient workmanship.
- Review & inspect all material being used, building self-inspection into everything you make/process
- Complete, date and sign-off on all routing information
- Perform job tasks in an efficient manner according to given standards
- Process magnesium and aluminum sand casting through oil bath, rinse and oven dry
- Inspect castings under a black light process for discontinuities per customer specifications
- Perform analysis on any discontinuity using small hand tools to blend or dig out noted areas
- Make accept/ reject decisions base on customer specification
- Create non-conformance paperwork noting reject information and move to MRB table
- Assist in the training of Penetrant trainees and Penetrant Level 1 personnel
- Report any problems or discrepancies to immediate management
Skills:
Basic math, basic reading, basic oral communication, time management, professionalism, must be able to read, write and understand English;
External level 2 certification that can be transferred to Chicago Magnesium.
Education/Training:
High school degree or equivalent passing test Penetrant Test, level 2 Practical Test, Physical Test (Vision) and Written Test
Experience:
Training and experience per TP500 and SP500, at a minimum must have been certified to a Penetrant Level 1
