The OR RN provides nursing care and service during surgical cases. Responsibilities include positioning the patient, prepping the patient, and circulating the case. The OR RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for all age patients in the operating room, while adhering to nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Center. The role also involves making decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicating appropriate information to physicians, patients, family members, and personnel in other departments, as well as team members.

Additional responsibilities may be designated by the Nurse Manager of the Operating Room and/or Director of Nursing, which include participating in committees, quality improvement audits, and projects.

• Orthopedic & Podiatry

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in PA
• BLS, ACLS, or PALS required upon hire and within one year of hiring date
• Ability to scrub and circulate as needed
• One year experience required in an intra‑operative setting
• Demonstrated clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities; physically and emotionally capable of performing duties of the position
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
