Deli Clerk

Strack & Van Til is hiring a Deli Clerk to provide friendly, efficient service in our full-service deli department. In this fast-paced, customer-focused role, you will prepare and package deli meats, cheeses, salads, and hot foods; slice and weigh products to order; and maintain attractive, well-stocked displays. Responsibilities include following food safety and sanitation standards, operating slicers and related equipment, labeling and rotating products, and handling cash register transactions as needed.

You'll work as part of a supportive, neighborhood-focused team with training, flexible scheduling, and opportunities to grow in grocery retail.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, prompt customer service at the deli counter
• Slice, weigh, and package deli meats, cheeses, and prepared foods to order
• Prepare, stock, and rotate deli items following food safety standards
• Maintain clean, sanitary work areas, equipment, and displays
• Follow proper labeling, dating, and product rotation procedures
• Operate slicers, scales, and other deli equipment safely
• Support inventory control by monitoring stock levels and reporting needs
• Assist with merchandising and maintaining attractive product displays
• Handle basic cashier or POS transactions when needed
• Work collaboratively with store team in a fast-paced environment
