Job Summary:

The Project Accountant plays a key role in the financial health of our construction projects by managing timely and accurate billing processes. This position is responsible for preparing monthly project billings, reviewing subcontractor invoices, tracking DBE participation, and supporting project close-out efforts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proficient in Excel, and able to both work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly project billings for public and private customers

Review weekly subcontractor billings for the assigned projects

Prepare owner waivers and collect subcontractor waivers

Request release of subcontractor payments from APTrack DBE participation

Facilitate project close-out Review of open Accounts receivables on a regular basis

Prepare T&M billings

Import awarded projected into accounting and field tracking software

Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Abilities:

Strong attention to detail

Intermediate Excel skills

Ability to work independently or as a part of a team Ability to multi-task and achieve results in a dynamic and ever-changing environment

Exceptional communication skills to work with internal and external customers

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s in accounting or finance heavily preferred, or equivalent experience3 to 5 years of accounting related experience preferred

Heavy highway or civil construction experience preferred
