Job Summary

We are hiring an experienced Accounts Payable associate to manage full‑cycle accounts payable workflows. This role ensures accurate vendor disbursements, manages complex reconciliations, and maintains strong internal financial controls.

Crystal Lake, IL

Shaw Media publishes over 150 titles in Illinois. Its holdings include websites, newspapers, magazines, radio stations, and a digital marketing services division. Founded in Dixon, Illinois, Shaw Media has been privately owned by the Shaw family since its inception in 1851.

• Full-Cycle AP:
  Oversee the end-to-end invoice lifecycle from initial receipt to final payment ledger posting.
• Account Reconciliation:
  Reconcile monthly vendor statements and investigate unresolved balances or variances.
• Tax Compliance:
  Collect and verify vendor W-9 forms and assist with annual 1099 filing preparations.
• Month-End Close:
  Prepare prior month invoice entry before closing the AP module within our accounting software.

• Experience:
  
  1–4 years of dedicated full‑cycle accounts payable experience.
• Systems:
  Hands‑on experience with an accounting software program and scanners.

  Skills:
  
  Beginner Microsoft Excel skills

  Problem‑solving mindset, strong analytical skills, and time‑management capabilities.

Pay Range: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
