Position SummaryThe Coordinator of Library and Academic Support works directly with the Executive Director to identify, implement, and execute library and academic support services and resources. The Coordinator is responsible for data collection and analysis, as well as for conveying the data to the team, the college campus, and external partners. The Coordinator will lead the marketing efforts for both the Library, and the Tutoring and Academic Support Center.
The Coordinator will be responsible for the development and enhancement of workflows, documentation, meeting minutes, and reports. This role will coordinate the purchases and payments for the Library, and the Tutoring and Academic Support Center.
- Coordinate long‑term planning, goal‑setting, and lead the assessment of services and resources offered by the Library and the Tutoring and Academic Support Center
- Direct the day‑to‑day tasks of the Library Assistants and Specialists and assist the Executive Director in making certain the Library and Learning Commons is functioning well and that deadlines are being met
- Lead the development and/or improvement of workflows, process documentation, and policies for major operational initiatives, including but not limited to student employee hiring and management, and the integration of accessibility best practices and compliance.
- Lead the creation of marketing campaigns and materials and oversee the distribution of these material.
- Ensure that the Library, and the Tutoring and Academic Support Center are utilizing and implementing technology effectively to support student success
- Facilitate training and development for the campus community in a variety of formats to include professional development days, virtual trainings, tutorials, seminars, and faculty and employee meetings
- Lead the student employees by creating and implementing processes, schedules, documents, and long‑term projects to support student employees.
- Create, modify, and maintain research guides (Lib Guides), Canvas shells, and departmental websites
- Work directly with the Executive Director and the Grants department to find grant opportunities, collaborate on grant writing, and support the coordination and implementation of awarded grants
- Create and maintain a variety of documents (e.g. forms, presentation materials, meeting agendas, minutes, etc.), aligning with branding standards of the College
- Coordinate, maintain, and process the contracts, invoices, purchases, payments, and records for all vendors.
- Create opportunities to collaborate with local public libraries, MCC partnerships, and other local non‑profits
- Create and implement services and resources with inclusive design and accessibility at the center
- Monitor the overall web‑accessibility and universal design of resources and services offered and provide suggestions for improvements and changes.
- Lead the data collection, analysis, and communication of the data to ensure continuous improvement to inform changes to resources and services.
- Compile data and information for governmental and institutional reports and lead in preparing reports
- Lead meeting/special event preparation (e.g. team meetings, committee meetings, etc.) by drafting the agendas, sending invitations, scheduling facilities, taking minutes, arranging catering/other services as necessary
- Work collaboratively with the library team to support the library's technical services needs, which include cataloging, inventory management, and processing of materials.
