Workweek: Schedule dependent upon assigned classes. Salaries are dependent upon education and semesters taught at MCC per the MCC Adjunct Faculty Agreement FY24‑FY25 through FY26‑FY27.
Position Summary: This division is home to Engineering, Advanced Engineering Technician, Engineering Technology, and Industrial Management and Technology. MCC instructors are higher‑education professionals who champion student learning, apply innovative teaching and learning pedagogies, assess student learning to ensure success, and collaborate within the College as discipline experts to help achieve strategic goals.
Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities- Teach the assigned class in accordance with the learning objectives and Concourse syllabus using instructional strategies to engage students.
- Develop and manage syllabus, course materials, and assignments.
- Provide feedback and evaluate students’ performance throughout the learning process, which may involve being available for student conferences before or after class, and responding to College email if necessary.
- Maintain and submit class syllabus, grades, attendance records, and required course‑related data.
- Use educational technology (e.g., course management platform such as Canvas).
- Assess student learning and submit required reports of assessment results.
- Maintain currency in professional field.
- Course‑specific minimum qualifications are approved annually by the Board of Trustees and are available in all Academic Division Offices.
- Demonstrated teaching experience is preferred.
- Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds.
- Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
