Elementary School Music Teacher

Crystal Lake School District 47 currently has an opening for an Elementary School Music Teacher. The goal of this position is to provide opportunities for students to explore and develop their skills in the elements of music.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Instructs an age appropriate music curriculum as adopted by the Board of Education for students in grades K-5
• Provides general music instruction in accordance with the time allotted to provide students with a well-rounded music education
• Instructs students using state standards of music education
• Coordinates all school music events
• Organizes daily class time so instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time
• Instructs students in citizenship and procedures of the school district

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License
• Elementary Music endorsement
• Teaching experience preferred
• Able to communicate effectively with parents and students

PHYSICAL /MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Demonstrate high levels of flexibility, have excellent interpersonal communication skills, articulation, creativity, organizational skills, confidentiality, maintain a positive attitude and cooperativeness
• Physical requirements include, sitting, standing, bending, walking, and lifting equipment and materials
• High level of flexibility, articulation, concentration, and confidentially
