On Any Given Day You’ll- Assist in the preparation or modification of plans, specifications, reports, construction schedules, permits, and project designs
- Perform specific and limited portions of broader assignments under the supervision of senior engineers
- Prepare design calculations and quantity estimates
- Assist in developing probable construction cost estimates for projects
- Serve as onsite project representative
- Review construction sites to monitor progress and perform other duties as required by contract documents
- Apply standard practices and techniques, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies, and follow operations through related steps or processes
- Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and government regulations
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, or will take the exam within six months of hire
- Applied for or received EIT license, or will obtain one within six months of hire
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Previous internship experience in civil engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods
- Ability to sit, walk, reach, crouch, bend, and stand on uneven surfaces for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 30 lbs.
