Material Handler / Forklift Operator
This role focuses on safely and efficiently moving materials within a busy manufacturing environment. The Material Handler / Forklift Operator uses sit-down forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to deliver raw materials and finished parts to machine operators, welders, assemblers, and warehouse locations, ensuring smooth and continuous production flow.
Responsibilities
- Pull materials and move them to and from workstations to support production activities, with primary support for the small parts welding area.
- Deliver materials to machine operators, welders, assemblers, and other fabrication departments as needed to maintain efficient operations.
- Unload trucks using an overhead crane and stage incoming materials in the warehouse for further processing or storage.
- Operate sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to transport materials safely throughout the facility.
- Follow work orders, pick lists, and production schedules to ensure each department has the correct materials in the right quantities at the right time.
- Take finished products from the small parts area and deliver them to the next step in the production process or store them in designated warehouse locations.
- Perform general material handling, including packaging, lifting boxes, loading and unloading, and preparing orders for shipping and receiving.
- Use RF scanners and related tools to track inventory movements, verify shipments, and maintain accurate records of materials.
- Support shipping and receiving operations by loading and unloading trucks, organizing pallets, and verifying incoming and outgoing materials.
- Work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment, following all safety procedures when using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff, heavy assemblers, machine operators, welders, and paint department personnel to keep material flow organized and efficient.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring materials are properly labeled, stored, and accessible for production needs.

This is a permanent position based out of Crystal Lake, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $43680.00/yr. Great company benefits.
