Shift
Two 12 hour night shifts, weekend and holiday rotations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provides patient care as assigned and per routine as defined by educational scope, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures.
- Answers call lights in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Documents care provided according to standards.
- Maintains a clean work and patient environment.
- Maintains supplies, including scanning, stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.
- Floats to various units based on identified patient care needs.
- Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities.
- Training/precepting new partners in collaboration with unit educator.
- Blood Glucose Monitoring (BGM) with lab personnel.
- Bladder scanning procedure reviewed.
- Bladder scanner training complete (check off sheet for competency).
- Attaching patient to remote telemetry or bedside cardiac monitor.
- Managing and reporting collection devices:
Colostomy, ileostomy or other fecal management systems: care and output measures. - Indwelling catheters: care and output measures.
- Nasogastric tubes to suction.
- Surgical drains under direction of supervising RN.
- Competent in completing vital signs:
Manual process for blood pressure and required reporting of abnormal values to supervising RN. - Discontinue invasive devices under the direction of the supervising RN:
Indwelling (Foley) catheters, Nasogastric tubes, Peripherally inserted intravenous catheters and similar devices as appropriate.
Completion of a CNA program.
Certification / Licensure- Current CNA certificate in applicable state.
- Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Pay Range$17.57 - $25.48
