Overview
As an Auto Glass Technician at Safelite, you will perform vehicle glass repair and replacement services, operating Safelite’s tools and technologies, and delivering quality and customer service.
Responsibilities- Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at the shop or mobile shop in an efficient manner, focusing on safety and quality.
- Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
- Operate Safelite’s tools and technologies, such as True Seal®, Ezi‑Wire™, GTS, chemicals and mobile resource management technology.
- Operate company and customer vehicles safely throughout the day.
- Communicate with customers in‑person, via text and phone; promote and sell Safelite products and services.
- Clean customer vehicles after each job.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all company policies and standards.
- Competitive hourly pay starting at $20.25/hr, increasing to $24.00/hr after training and certification.
- Earn $5 per set of wiper blades when added.
- Career levels based on performance metrics.
- Benefits package valued at more than $10,000, including 401(k) with company match, medical plans, PTO, holidays, and volunteer days.
- Program to buy additional PTO or sell unused time up to 16 hours.
- Up to $5,250 annually in tuition reimbursement.
- Paid training and all tools and resources needed.
- High School Diploma or GED. Advanced education preferred.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license. Other licenses as required by law.
- Safelite Safe Tech™ certification required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand for extended periods in tight spaces, bend and twist body.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely; agreement to be monitored via in‑cab safety camera.
- Maintain professionalism and passion for customer service.
- Work outside in varied weather and temperatures.
- Work with chemicals as required.
- Flexible scheduling to meet customer needs.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools for recalibration and troubleshooting.
- Problem‑solving and independent or collaborative troubleshooting.
- Read, write and interpret English and technical directions.
- Communicate orally and in writing.
- Maintain professional appearance, following uniform and PPE policies.
- Maintain stable performance under pressure.
This position involves driving duties monitored through cameras, GPS, and tracking technologies to ensure safety and compliance.
