About the Role
Apply principles of cost accounting to conduct studies and analysis providing detailed cost information required to set manufacturing standards, report performance against those standards, and generally develop improved accuracy of production transactions and inventory valuation.
Key Responsibilities- Support cost and management accounting including, but not limited to, project accounting, financial reporting and analysis, month‑end financial closing, and audit.
- Leverage a robust investigative mindset and work through efficiency improvements and opportunities as they present.
- Manage preparation and execution of annual standards and monthly statistical cost rolls.
- Review and approve Make, Buy, and OSP workflows ensuring they are accurate and reflect the correct process.
- Analyze the purchase price variance in the general ledger.
- Audit cycle count activity, selection of items to be counted, recount decisions, research of discrepancies, and report on progress toward making improvements for greater accuracy and coverage.
- Reconcile inventory reports for internal and bank use.
- Assist in preparation of inventory reports and charts for executive management.
- Perform monthly closing activities including preparation of journal entries and explaining variances.
- Assist in the development of procedures and controls associated with cost accounting.
- Ensure Oracle system integrity and accuracy of general ledger and cost accounting data.
- Work with other departments on projects related to item costs.
- Maintain the monthly actual vs budget reporting to operations management.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 3–5+ years of experience in cost accounting.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, such as Oracle.
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is preferred.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office at least three days per week. Colleagues are expected to demonstrate a collaboration‑first mindset, with flexibility to adjust their hybrid days based on business needs. You will have an opportunity to work with your team and leader to determine when you should be in office to drive meaningful connections and best serve our customers.
