Position Title: Boring Bar Operator

Wage: $23.00 - $25.00/hour

• Set up, align, and secure large, irregular work pieces for machining
• Operate boring bars to bore, mill, turn, face, groove, recess, taper, drill, tap and countersink materials
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds and machining sequences
• Use personal machinist tools and precision measuring instruments
• Adjust machines to maintain exact tolerances
• Read and interpret drawings, prints and specifications
• Make layouts, establish reference points and determine boring locations
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and adherence to production standards
• Machine parts to exact tolerances
• Inspect work throughout the machining process
• Operate within established standard operating procedures
• Maintain quality and productivity standards
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Experience operating boring bar equipment
• Overhead crane experience
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Reliable attendance
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
