We are currently hiring for CNC Machinist at our Cudahy, Wisconsin (suburb of Milwaukee, WI) facility.
- As a CNC Lathe Operator, you will set up and operate Vertical Turning Centers (lathes) and will be an integral part of a successful team that is responsible for producing products and machined components in military, aerospace, oil/gas and other applications.
- In this role, you will be responsible for operating CNC lathes to produce products / components that range in size from 4 inches in diameter/short length to 65 inch diameter/long length.
- As a CNC Machinist you are also responsible for ensuring all quality and safety standards; and maintaining equipment and supplies within this CNC department that is crucial in helping ATI meet production goals and objectives.
- A successful CNC Operator uses interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, understands machining principles, is a strong troubleshooter, and is able to analyze and resolve difficult problems effectively.

- This is a weekend shift position with the option of working weekend days 6:00am-6:00pm or weekend nights 6:00pm-6:00am Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Scheduled for 36 hours, paid for 40.
- Have a minimum of 5 years CNC machining experience
- Knowledge of set-up and programming machines
- Experience machining large parts and working with different types of metals; aerospace manufacturing experience is a big plus
- Follows engineering setup charts to perform initial assembly of tools.
- Interprets program to install all tools in the machine and establish offsets; adjusts machine offsets to ensure part conformance.
- Performs complete machining of first piece and verifies all dimensions on machines to correspond with drawing.
- Uses instrumentation and gauges, along with shop tools to verify operational drawing requirements and part conformance.
- Reads and understands basic technical drawings / blueprints to produce parts that meet specifications.
- Measures and documents dimensions during operations and maintains appropriate machining and operation records.
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 5 years of previous CNC operation experience
- Experience as a CNC Vertical Turning Center Operator/Machinist
- Experience with metal forgings
- Machining Certification
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently to achieve goals and objectives
- Strong knowledge of basic machining principles, GD&T, and ability to read blueprints
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use hand tools, measuring instruments, and gauges to ensure proper setups and machining operations
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
