About the Role
In this role you will lead the production operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity across the manufacturing line. You will oversee the entire production process, from tracking yields to making real‑time adjustments, and ensure compliance with USDA and HACCP regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily inspections, address unsafe conditions, lead safety audits, and champion ergonomic initiatives.
- Maintain product quality by enforcing Food Safety and Food Quality plans and training employees on safe operating procedures.
- Track and analyze production yields, efficiencies, and variances, working with Operations Managers and Supervisors to improve workflows and reduce downtime.
- Direct and provide guidance to hourly production employees, ensuring alignment on safety, quality, and production goals.
- Lead monthly line meetings, walk the production floor daily, and communicate production objectives to the team.
- Analyze key product performance metrics and suggest initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; 2+ years of relevant experience required.
- Experience in a supervisory role, providing training, coaching or mentoring to staff.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to lead problem‑solving efforts for complex process issues.
- Skilled at motivating, training, and coaching employees to achieve peak performance in a positive, respectful, team‑oriented environment.
- Adaptable to fast‑paced, dynamic environments, able to work in varying conditions (heat and cold), and willing to work long hours and weekends when needed.
- Will travel up to 5% of the time.
- Experience with SAP, internet tools, spreadsheets, Word, order processing, and inventory software.
- Experience in food processing, leadership, and manufacturing, with knowledge of yields, plant efficiencies, and operation procedures.
- Bilingual ability.
- Work in wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, chemicals.
- Noise levels moderate, occasionally loud.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
