Industrial Wets Spray Painter

QPS Employment Group has a great Industrial Wets Spray Painter position available at a company in Cudahy, WI. This position has the opportunity for hire.

$28.00 per hour

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, grinding, scraping, masking, and removing rust, grease, dirt, or old coatings.
• Mix, thin, and prepare primers, paints, epoxies, and protective coatings according to manufacturer instructions and job specifications.
• Apply coatings using spray guns, airless sprayers, brushes, rollers, and other painting equipment.
• Inspect surfaces before and after painting to identify defects, uneven coverage, runs, overspray, or other quality issues.
• Measure and verify coating thickness using appropriate inspection tools.
• Follow work orders, blueprints, technical specifications, and coating instructions.
• Protect surrounding areas and equipment by masking and covering surfaces not intended for painting.
• Set up, operate, clean, and maintain painting equipment, spray guns, hoses, pumps, and ventilation systems.
• Perform touch-ups and repair damaged or improperly coated surfaces.
• Handle, store, and dispose of paints, solvents, chemicals, and hazardous materials according to safety and environmental regulations.
• Wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators, gloves, safety glasses, protective clothing, and fall-protection equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Report equipment problems, material shortages, safety hazards, and quality concerns to the supervisor.
• Work independently or with production, fabrication, welding, and quality-control teams to complete projects on schedule.

- Knowledge of industrial painting methods, surface preparation, and coating application.

- Experience using conventional spray-painting equipment.

- Ability to mix and apply primers, paints, epoxies, urethanes, and protective coatings.

- Understanding of paint ratios, drying times, surface conditions, and coating-thickness requirements.

- Ability to read work orders, safety data sheets, technical instructions, and basic blueprints.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes.

- Ability to identify and correct coating defects.

- Basic knowledge of workplace safety, hazardous-material handling, and respiratory protection.

- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined or elevated areas for extended periods.

- Ability to lift and move materials and equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds.

- Dependability, time-management skills, and the ability to meet production deadlines.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

- Previous industrial, manufacturing, automotive, marine, or commercial painting.
