The Southshore Community Hospital hosts an experienced group of caregivers who treat patients with emergent and critical care needs. This Level IV trauma unit (17 monitor beds) welcomes experienced, strong communicators who are skilled, engaged, and committed to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care. The high‑volume, fast‑paced unit requires dynamic teammates like you.
We’re Looking For- Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in clinical nursing. Newly licensed RNs with EMT, paramedic, or ED externship experience will also be considered.
- Deliver individualized care using the nursing process—assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, mobilizing resources and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Promote patient safety by implementing risk‑reduction strategies and reporting safety events promptly.
- Educate patients and families, adapting teaching methods to meet unique learning needs and supporting readiness for discharge.
- Coordinate care and discharge planning through an interdisciplinary approach, ensuring continuity across the healthcare continuum.
- Lead and delegate effectively, fostering teamwork and supporting unlicensed personnel.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and unit performance.
- Maintain professional growth through ongoing education, competency completion, and participation in shared governance activities.
- Four 8‑hour shifts per week.
- Rotating shifts of 15–23 and 19–03.
- Weekend and holiday rotation required.
