RN Nurse, ICU Nurse
RN-Registered Nurse – Med Surg / Telemetry Contract (Starts 7/20/2026, 13 weeks)
Night Shift 12 hours/day, 3 days/week. Contract includes 13 weeks on site in Cudahy, WI, approximately 20 minutes from Milwaukee. The facility is a Level IV Trauma Center with 100 beds.

- Minimum experience required: 1 year Med Surg/Telemetry
- First‑time travelers accepted
- Population: primarily geriatric patients
- Cardiac: CHF, chest pain observation (no cath lab onsite; transfer to St. Luke's)
- Neuro: seizure observation, stroke observation, TIA vs. stroke rule out, altered mental status
- General medical: COPD, respiratory, kidney, liver, GI issues
- RN – Days: 1:4‑5 nights: 1:6‑7 (may reach 1:8, uncommon)
- CNA – Days: 1:5‑6 nights: 1:7‑8
- RN: BLS, NIHSS; ACLS preferred
- CNA: BLS
RN – Experience with geriatric, cardiac, neuro, and general medical patients; NG tube placement/management;
Foley catheter placement/management; chest tube and pleural drain management; wound care; central line, ports, and midline blood draws; cardiac rhythm interpretation; ability to titrate drips within set parameters (Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, Lasix, insulin).
CNA – Assist with ambulation, patient ADLs, vitals, I/O, blood sugar checks; removal of peripheral IVs.
Support within the Department- Charge RN takes reduced patient assignment
- HUC available until 23:00
- Phlebotomy for peripheral lab draws
- RT 24/7;
Hospitalist 24/7; OT/PT/ST during day - Centralized telemonitoring with teletechs; central monitor at nurse station

Pyxis - Unit‑specific equipment: various patient lifts, ceiling lift
The RN may float to other Med Surg units, including ER hold and ICU, but will only take Med Surg patient assignments.
OrientationNEO orientation (facility and unit) followed by one 12‑hour shift to learn unit flow.
Scheduling- Weekend rotation:
Every other week - On‑call: only low census; up to 36 h per contract
- Holiday expectations: 50 % of holidays per contract
- Manager creates a 6‑week schedule cycle released ~3 weeks before the cycle begins
- Shift times: 07:00–19:30 and 19:00–07:30 (12‑hour night shift)
- Approvals for RTO must go through manager
- Parking: free employee parking lot
- Scrub color: any solid professional color (no graphics, logos, denim, or designs)
- Unit culture: active work on culture and engagement; teams are supportive and collaborative
