The Staff Accountant will support the company’s accounting operations, including month‑end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, audit preparation, and general ledger maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss reports.
- Maintain the general ledger and assist with month‑end close.
- Code invoices, reconcile accounts, and ensure payments are applied to the correct accounts.
- Reconcile bank accounts, cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.
- Assist with accounts receivable collections and accounts payable processing.
- Gather documentation and provide support for annual audits.
- Prepare and file applicable tax forms with federal, state, and local agencies.
- Maintain knowledge of accounting practices, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- At least three years of related accounting experience required.
- Knowledge of general accounting, cost accounting, and GAAP.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
- CPA or public accounting experience preferred, but not required.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
