Outside Sales / Application Engineer / Territory Manager
Outside Sales Engineer / Application Engineer / Territory Manager is required to join a leading supplier of engineered pumping systems and equipment. The role is open to candidates from any engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, industrial, process, manufacturing, or similar), whether you’re an experienced sales professional or an engineer looking to move into a customer-facing role.
This role will cover Northern Alabama, specifically the following cities:
- Cullman
- North Birmingham
- Huntsville
- Decatur
- Madison
- Guntersville
- Jasper
- Arab
- Hartselle
- Vinemont
- Holly Pond
- Good Hope
Industry coverage includes food & beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, oil & gas, manufacturing, water & wastewater, and power generation.

- Manage and grow an existing client base while developing new business in the specified territories.
- Visit customers to maintain relationships, address needs, and provide technical support.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities through market awareness and prospecting.
- Work with engineering companies, end users, and manufacturers to match products to applications.
- Handle quick‑ticket sales and own the assigned territory.
- Work closely with an internal team and support technical activities.
- Coordinate with inside sales for quotes, pricing, and service/repair scheduling.
- Advise on correct pump/equipment applications and support customers with troubleshooting.
- Previous experience as a Sales Engineer, Technical Sales, Application Engineer, Business Development Manager, Internal Sales Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Service Technician, Field Service Engineer, Project Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, Design Engineer, Production Engineer, Reliability Engineer, or similar role is beneficial but not essential.
- Open to candidates from industries such as pumps, valves, rotating equipment, HVAC, refrigeration, water & wastewater, process machinery, automation, material handling, power generation, oil & gas, food & beverage, and manufacturing.
- Strong interest in technical sales with willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Based in or able to cover the Northern Alabama territory (including the cities listed), with travel required.
