Compensation: $180,000 – $210,000 + performance incentives (flexible based on experience)
An exciting and rapidly growing organization in Cullman, Alabama, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team.
This is a high-impact opportunity for a strategic financial leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to play a key role in shaping the financial future of a successful and growing company.
The CFO will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership to drive financial strategy, strengthen financial controls, and oversee key finance and accounting functions across multiple teams within the organization.
This role is onsite in Cullman, AL, and is ideal for a rising finance leader, potentially with Big 4 (PwC preferred) experience and a CPA, who is ready to step into a top financial leadership role.
This role requires professionals who bring substantive financial services experience within the past ~10 years
, particularly in core financial accounting and financial reporting disciplines
. In particular, we are interested in candidates who offer:
- Meaningful leadership experience in financial accounting and external financial reporting within a regulated financial services institution (e.g., banking, credit union, specialty finance).
- Direct responsibility for GAAP-based financial statements and reporting
, with exposure to the complexity and judgment inherent in financial institutions. - A strong technical accounting foundation
, with demonstrated ability to apply and oversee accounting standards over time. - Exposure to loan and credit-related accounting concepts sufficient to provide effective oversight and informed decision‑making (hands‑on lending execution is not required).
- Ongoing interaction across the audit ecosystem, including internal audit, external auditors, and regulators
, reflecting an appreciation for controls, compliance, and governance. - A career trajectory where financial reporting and accounting experience remains a core strength over the last decade
, rather than experience primarily concentrated earlier in their career.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute the company's financial strategy and long‑term growth initiatives.
- Provide financial insights that support key business decisions, investments, and operational improvements.
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and strategic modeling.
- Design, implement, and maintain strong financial controls and governance frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Oversee financial reporting accuracy, audit readiness, and risk management.
- Lead and mentor finance, accounting, and related operational teams across the organization.
- Establish processes that improve financial visibility, efficiency, and performance.
- Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks that support executive decision‑making.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Identify cost efficiencies and revenue optimization opportunities.
- Present financial performance and insights to executive leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA required
- Experience with Big 4 accounting firm (PwC preferred) strongly valued
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or financial leadership roles
- Experience building or improving financial control frameworks and reporting processes
- Proven ability to manage and lead multiple teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and financial modeling capabilities.
