Job Summary

• Assist pharmacist in pre-packaging, labeling and dispensing medications.
• Refill, load and unload and trouble-shoot basic problems for automated dispensing machines.
• Maintain cleanliness of the pharmacy and free of out-of-date medications.
• Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously, assisting with any non-clinical questions.
• Assist in any area of pharmacy where workload requires.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory levels and assist in ordering and restocking medications and supplies.
• Demonstrate proficiency in all computer systems utilized in pharmacy.
• Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
• Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a formal technician training program with satisfactory grades in all modules preferred.
• Must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician.

Six months of continuous experience in a pharmacy position with IV admixture experience.

• Must have the ability to read, to write, to prepare and to interpret written instructions and to make mathematical calculations.
• Must have good communication skills and be able to maintain good interpersonal relationships with staff members.
• Computer skills and the use of pharmacy software are preferred.
