Medical Technologist & Lab Technician
Are you a certified laboratory professional who takes pride in accuracy, patient safety, and being an essential part of the healthcare team?
Cullman Regional Medical Center is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our laboratory team. In this role, you’ll perform routine and complex laboratory testing that helps our physicians and clinical teams make critical decisions about patient care.
What You’ll Do- Perform and review routine and complex clinical laboratory testing in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Perform equipment maintenance, calibration, and quality control while maintaining accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare test reports and promptly communicate atypical and critical results to the appropriate healthcare professionals, with appropriate documentation.
- Assist with phlebotomy, specimen processing, laboratory clerical functions, and pathology assistant duties as needed.
- Troubleshoot complex problems and handle exceptions within the laboratory.
- Assist with training and education of students completing clinical laboratory rotations.
- Collect and process chain-of-custody urine drug screens and breathalyzer testing

- Support a culture focused on patient safety, quality, accuracy, and compassionate care
.
- Associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or an equivalent program with completion of required clinical education.
- Current national certification as required for the position.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment.
- Six months of clinical laboratory experience.
