Job Overview
Symbotic is an AI‑powered robotic technology platform that transforms supply chain operations. We are seeking an Automation General Manager to lead operations at one of our customer distribution center sites. In this role, you will drive operational excellence, build strong customer partnerships, and develop a high‑performing team.
Responsibilities- Oversee day‑to‑day automation operations and production management at the customer site.
- Conduct performance assessments, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Own the site operating plan and customer financial commitments, and lead the team in executing against them.
- Monitor and report on operational performance to customers and internal cross‑functional teams.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by maintaining quality standards and resolving issues promptly.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the site operations team by fostering a collaborative environment that encourages growth and continuous improvement.
- Champion a culture of safety, quality, and operational discipline across the site.
- Ensure full compliance with safety regulations, LOTO protocols, and company policies.
- Support team development through coaching, training, and hands‑on leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of functional management and direct supervisory experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of direct leadership within an operations environment.
- Experience in logistics, material management, inventory control, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of operational metrics and performance management.
- Proven ability to drive change and implement process improvements.
- Budget preparation and financial management experience.
- Flexibility for overtime and travel as needed, with up to 60% travel during onboarding/training.
- Steep stairs to climb into the structure; routine walking up and down stairs.
- Work near railings that are high off the ground; protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes.
- Capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.
- Frequent ability to safely lift items weighing up to 50 lbs and move items weighing up to 80 lbs.
- Stand/work/walk for up to 10‑12 hours; frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
- Work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches.
- Must be able to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
- Must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including Lock Out Tag Out and fall protection safety protocols.
