$16.00 - $21.00 per hour

• Perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on trailing equipment in compliance with manufacturers and company schedules.
• Access any area of the equipment to perform necessary maintenance (including inspecting and working in, on or under parts of trailers).
• Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery, including working outdoors in inclement weather.
• Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (up to 50 lbs frequently and over 75 lbs occasionally).
• Safely walk, reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel as necessary to perform the job duties.
• Responsible for shop cleanliness, safety and compliance.
• Follow McGriff policy and procedures in making all repairs.
• Apply knowledge and work in accordance with DOT, EPA, interstate Authority, OSHA and other regulations as required.
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation.
• Participate in company training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Prompt, daily attendance at assigned work location.

• Mechanically inclined with experience in all phases of semi‑trailer repairs such as brakes, electrical, floor repair, tires, welding, hydraulics, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, modifications work, DOT inspections, and tire mounting/dismounting.
• General trailer repair and knowledge.
• Previous or current ASE certifications desired, not required.
• Basic welding skills such as Oxy/Acetylene, ARC and MIG desired.
• Clean motor vehicle record (MVR), able to pass a drug test, and pass DOT physical.

Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (Required)

• Automotive repair: 1 year (Preferred)
