Mechanic Maintenance 1st Shift Cullman Truck Shop

Job Details: 1st Shift – Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (times may vary).

Maintain all tractors, trailers, and live production equipment in operating condition. Diagnose issues, adjust, repair, and perform routine maintenance while complying with Department of Transportation rules, safety practices, and Tyson policies.

• Diagnose and repair equipment with minimal supervision.
• Perform maintenance on tractors, trailers, and live production equipment.
• Change tires, assemble or reassemble complex equipment, install new or rebuilt parts.
• Shuttle tractor/trailers to other locations.
• Maintain a clean work area and adhere to PPE and safety procedures.
• Lift up to 100 pounds with assistance; perform required physical tasks.
• Work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

• Minimum 6 months diesel mechanic experience or completion of a diesel mechanic training program.
• 6 months continuous work history with one employer in the last 24 months.
• Meet DOT and Tyson Fleet Safety Driver Qualifications.
• Proficiency with basic tools, power hand tools, welder, cutting tools, test equipment, forklift, hydraulic press, lift equipment, ladders, hydraulic hose crimper, drill press, torque wrenches up to 600 ft/lbs., and other equipment required for maintenance and repair.
• Basic computer skills for data input.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and understand written and verbal instructions.
• Willing and able to perform physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.
