Crew Foreman

The Cullman County Commission is accepting applications for the position of Crew Foreman for the Water Department. The position prepares and supervises work for all crews. Monitors the work of the crew and ensures each task is completed according to specifications. Plans long-term and short-term equipment and personnel needs and makes recommendations. Maintains accurate records of work activities. Other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of basic plumbing and pipe fitting methods.
• Knowledge of water system installation, repair, and management.
• Ability to supervise the work of others.
• Reading skills to comprehend specifications, directives, rules, and procedures.
• Writing skills to complete work-related records, forms, and reports.
• Must possess a valid Class A CDL license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire and have a driving record that meets standards set by the county's insurance carrier.
• Work may require considerable and strenuous physical exertion.
• Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and interact with the public in a pleasant and effective manner.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, overtime, weekends and holidays when necessary.

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and at least six (6) to eight (8) years of work-related experience preferred; however, any combination of education and work experience which provides the qualifications listed below will be considered.

This is a Safety-Sensitiveposition
. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to random, unannounced drug testing throughout their employment with the County in any Safety-Sensitiveposition.
