ADMINISTRATIVE TECHNICIAN - FINANCE | Careers at Culpeper County
Job SummaryResponsible for performing a variety of administrative and clerical duties for Finance. Serves as back-up to the Accounts Payable Specialist.
Job Functions ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Prepare and key Accounts Payable; assist with various finance functions and processes
- Print and distribute purchase orders
- Liquidate open purchase orders as needed
- Assist procurement department in requisition training and following the Culpeper County Purchasing Resolution
- Perform reception functions: greet customers, respond to routine questions, direct to appropriate person or department, answer telephone, direct callers, relay messages, distribute forms/documentation as requested
- Assist other departmental personnel with various tasks; serve as back-up for Accounts Payable Specialist and Payroll Assistant
- Perform general/clerical tasks
- Distribute various documents to departments
- Assist Accounting Manager with fixed assets, budget document preparation, and any other tasks as needed
- Assemble budget books for meetings
- Provide assistance to other employees or departments as needed
- Perform other duties as required
Education equivalent to a high school diploma. Previous experience or training in financial processes, clerical, reception, or data entry work is preferred but not required.
SpecialQualifications:
Must possess satisfactory results of a criminal history background check. In-house training to provide as back-up to Accounts Payable for multiple departments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Knowledge of general office practices
- Ability to operate a computer; proficiency in various software including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers
- Ability to provide the highest level of customer service
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to operate various office equipment such as fax, phone, etc.
This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as moderate. Must be able to lift 12-20 pounds. Must be able to operate office and computer equipment. May involve extended periods of time at keyboards or workstation. Must be able to communicate orally and perceive and discriminate colors or shades of color.
WORK ENVIRONMENTEssential functions are regularly performed in an office setting. Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
